Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) Report What Happened Last Year Submit Feedback Home |
In the midst of some research I was doing I came across an interesting find and something I didn't know about Batavia Township. Click here to view I scrolled down a little bit and right in from of me is Batavia Township! It's listed as one of the Townships that have adopted limited home rule! Well that got me interested since I live in the part of Amelia that would be in Batavia Township! Union Township is also listed! Anyhow I skimmed down to the section about what they couldn't do and I read a rule about the income tax but like most legal stuff I didn't understand exactly what it meant. See below; So I decided to go right to the Batavia Township Administrator, Rex Rarsons, and ask him the following questions" Has Batavia Township adopted "limited home rule"? If not do they intend to do so? If they do adopt "limited home rule" can they impose an income tax upon the residents of the Township? Below is what he sent back: The issue of the income tax has been set to rest. The attachment is the resolution made back in 2005. It is in pdf format and remember if you want to print it to print in using landscape. Hardly a day goes by anymore when I don't learn something new about our various forms of government. __________________ |
